The story behind the artwork

The 'East' print of a pair of circular London maps created in 2019. In Kristjana's unique style, the map comes alive with historical facts, the city's iconic buildings and fantastical animals., including the hero Elephant, carrying its wares from East London's Spitalfields market.

Growing up in Iceland, where there are very few tall buildings, the impact the London skyline had on Kristjana was massive. She is truly inspired by this great city, and working on London themed artwork is a passion of hers.
