Kristjana in Belgravia
In Full Bloom
Located in the triangle between Victoria, Leicester Square and Hyde Park, Belgravia is one of London's classiest destinations - the elegant Georgian streets are crammed with independent boutiques, renowned design studios and world class restaurants, and bustling with life. It is places like these that have always inspired Kristjana and her artwork, so she was delighted to be asked to be part of the seventh annual Belgravia In Bloom; a celebration of exquisitely crafted floral displays and experiences showcased throughout the area.
Kristjana and the team were commissioned to create two large artworks; one to represent the emergence of Spring and the other in celebration of weddings, as the traditional season begins. As a base for these pieces, Kristjana used some original archived images of the area, which she combined with her unique depictions of nature and the natural world.
Classic British blooms are combined with bedecked animals embracing the fashion scene, while tiny motifs including tea pots, cakes and fruits illustrate the cafe culture of the area. Kristjana's artwork adorned the streets and the shop windows of the boutiques and restaurants on Elizabeth Street, Motcomb Street, Pimlico Road and Eccleston Yards, while visitors could enjoy unique floral-themed exhibits, promotions, dishes and experiences.
