The story behind the artwork

An elaborate Original 3D artwork that depicts a circular map of West London with the river Thames running through its centre. Layer upon layer of Victorian engravings are integrated into the map itself or laser or hand cut, folded and pinned in place by the artist. Each element reflects the rich history of the city of London, bringing the map to life with historical facts, the city's iconic buildings and fantastical animals in Kristjana's unique style.

Motifs of the literary world include a reference to Milne’s iconic bear, the innovative writing of Woolf and Shelley’s birthplace. A sartorial stag celebrates the world renowned Savile Row and a giant teapot in Fortnum’s blue nods to the nation’s favourite drink

Bespoke Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect. Utterly unique in its composition and to its owner, an original artwork is one of its kind and cannot be replicated.  Your piece will be the only piece like it, anywhere in the world.

• Bespoke wooden box frame, painted with a smooth coat of matt paint.
