The Story Behind the Artwork

Inspired by Kristjana’s love of and respect for nature, these two brand new Limited Edition prints feature one of the true heroes of the natural world; the bee. Currently under threat around the world, these superstar pollinators have been given a stunning artistic treatment in Kristjana’s unique, trademark style.

A majestic Honey Bee dances above a warm, shimmering backdrop that reflects the precious honey created by its tireless hunt for nectar. Tiny motifs are dotted over the worker bee’s body, depicting sweet treats, ripening fruits and the inviting warmth of caressing petals, protecting the stigma beyond. A woodland toadstool signifies rapid growth and rebirth, a reassuring reminder of the lifegiving might of this diminutive insect.
